I need your help!!!!

Right guys it's not often I ask for help but this time I am drawing a blank and could really use it!

I want YOU to name my company!

I will tell you what we do and who I am and all you have to do is suggest a company name.

First and foremost my name is AJ or Jessika if you're feeling naughty ;-).

I am a third year student at Robert Gordon University, studying communications with Public Relations.

The company is at its core a media company- I supply written copy, PR, Marketing and research skills for anybody that needs it.

Using my contacts we also supply DJ's for charity gigs, karaoke nights or whatever you need, and recently we added a singer to our books who is available for all your entertainment needs.

So that's basically it: I'm AJ, I do media and entertainment supply and I need a short catchy name for my company?

Please help or I'm going to end up being called whatever sounds good when I go out and get un-sober this weekend ;-).

Thanks Guys

Bad Jessika

So I know I said I was going to keep the blog updated better but I've just been having so much fun that I haven't had the time!!!
That changes now though I promise this time you'll get at least one fresh exciting post every week.

Unfortunately I still haven't got that copy of FHM to do my "what the fuck were they thinking" post on the hot 100 so you'll have to wait for that...in the mean time pop over to FHM.com and vote for this years hot 100- may I suggested googling Samantha Barks at the Oscars and then voting off of that!!!

How's about we kick this off with a hot or not list of the movies that came out in cinemas this year? Me and Damian have pretty much seen them all, but remember opinions are my own so you may disagree and feel free to tell me why in the comments section.

Ok here goes:
Les Miserables- HOT, HOT, HOT, HOT, HOT five hots for the five times we've gone to see it! I really truly could not love this movie more, perfectly cast, even Russell Crowe doesn't bother me after the first viewing. It brought Samantha Barks to the big screen where she is so good it's scary, and It silenced the haters that were forever tarring Anne Hathaway with the Princess Diaries brush!
All in all perfect movie that I probably will watch at least once a month every month until the day I die.

Gangster Squad- WARM, I didn't dislike this movie but it didn't really excite me. Emma Stone is beautiful and a great actress but was under used in this gangster flick...best part was probably the guy at the beginning (no spoilers but if you see it you'll know what I mean) .

Zero Dark Thirty- HOT, seriously brilliant movie! I  get this into movies that are essentially about logistics and war etc but this made me think and feel so many different things! It can be quite harrowing at some points but not in a gruesome way just a feeling in your heart and despite the fact we know the outcome I still enjoyed it hugely.

Movie 43- I can't even hot or not this! There are no words, watch it once that is all you never have to watch it again but it definitely needs to be seen. I laughed until I cried, I almost vomited at one point and I had to watch Les Mis again to get the image of Hugh jackman in this out of my head.

Lincoln- NOT, this movie is dull as sin. I get that it's a huge time in a history, a great story about a great man but jeez is it boring! Could've been at least half an hour shorter too.

Flight-WARM, great start, Catalina from my name is earl has a nice body, and it tells a good story. But the ending is predictable and I felt uncomfortable watching some bits...also if you are a recovering addict it's probably a bad idea because even I left the theatre wanting a line or two lol.

Hitchcock- HOT, brilliant movie about a brilliant man. I think i enjoyed it slightly more than Damian because I did a film study on Psycho and this movie has so many subtle nuances throughout it that are impossible to miss for someone that has looked into it. That said you don't need to have seen Psycho to see Hitchcock but I would wonder why you are going to see a semi- biopic about a man whose most successful movie you haven't seen.

I Give it a Year- NOT, just meh. Some jokes were funny but you've seen them all in the trailer already, most of the others just fall flat. It touts itself as the anti-romcom but still has a sappy happy ending. And I'm sorry but Rose Byrne and Rafe Spall are a total mismatch!!!

Beautiful Creatures- HOT, this movie was really good, different kind of story, new up and coming actors mixed with seasoned pros and some awesome effects. HOWEVER if you have read the books you may be disappointed.

Moulin Rouge- HOT, HOT, HOT, okay so this didn't technically come out this year but it was shown on Valentine's Day so it counts. I love, love, love this movie. The music, actors, dancing and storyline combine to make a beautiful story about Bohemia and I could literally watch this every day.
If you like musicals- watch it, if you like the Opera-watch it and if you want to see Nicole Kidman faking an orgasm whilst writhing about in a fur rug- watch it!!!

This is 40- HOT, I found this funny, not the greatest comedy ever and not as funny as its sort of predecessor but still funny. Melissa McCarthy is a comedy genius!!!

Warm Bodies- HOT, I really enjoyed this. Totally original concept, some fighting, and a little great music. Must see!

A Good Day to Die Hard- WARM, this is a Die Hard movie simple as that, the story line is new, the outcome is a touch predictable and Mary Elizabeth Winstead seems to have forgotten how to act. But at it's core it still a great action flick of inconceivable stunts, explosions, car chases and gunfights. And Bruce Willis still totally has it!!!

And that's it so far! Hansel and Gretel, and Safe Haven at the weekend and maybe Mama soon if someone's not too tired (or scared :-p).

Apart from movies and a lot of great times with D, it's mostly been work, a dislocated wrist and planning for the CLAN event me and the team are running, so happy busy times.
Now if you will excuse me I'm off to hang the Anfield Road street sign D bought me and delve into the giant box of nerds he tried to surprise me with :-).

Tata for now :-).

Best Decisions

So I've maybe neglected the blog a little lately but in my defence I've been uber busy.

I finally got a placement for Uni and I am absolutely loving it. Getting so much to do and even got put in charge of two big projects (on my first day)! I love when people have faith in your abilities. I'll keep you all updated as to what they have me doing.

Obviously I've also been to the cinema a lot and strongly urge everyone to go watch Movie 43...if you wanna laugh until you cry, and walk out of the cinema thinking "what the fuck did I just watch??"
Went to see Flight last night with Damo(of course) and it was very good...all the action happens quite early though but it's still a solid 6/10.

Craig has asked me to do a blog post with my opinions on FHM's 100 Sexiest list! Apparently he thinks I'll have a good few things to say. So once I have the list I will get right on it, stay tuned for that one.

Ah well until next time...

Migliori amici e grande decisioni

Today was one of two halves, one of pure evil and one of pure contentment. It was a relatively ordinary day in the calendar, nothing special about it (unless you're American, and if so then Happy Martin Luther King Jr day) but it is definitely a day worth mentioning :-).

It started off pretty bad, running late for an exam I got stuck in traffic, because it seems people forget how to drive when it snows, spent the morning in the library writing mind-numbingly boring peer reviews and was then forced to stand in front of a stupidly large amount of students and field questions-all in the name of a good grade. So far so bad right? Did I mention this was all on 3.5 hours of sleep and wearing a suit dress made out of the thinnest material EVER!!!
But I survived long enough for a celebratory lunch with my team. What are we celebrating I hear you cry? Why, the end of my exams, the end of my first semester of Uni and the start of an actual fortnights holiday, dear readers!!
I am finally free to do whatever I want for the next two weeks, until my placement-if I get one- starts, and I can't wait to enjoy some me time.

But alas the joy of that realisation was to be shortlived! Because it was on to my interview in snowy, cold, arse end of nowhere, Altens/Cove. The details of my interview are being kept a secret for now as I don't want to jinx it :-). I did a wee errand for mum after which resulted in me being frozen to the bone and in a hooring bad mood :-(...but fear not, all that was about to change!

Tonight was a great night, tonight was La Boheme night, tonight I plucked Damo's opera cherry and he loved it!! La Boheme is one of my favourite operatic pieces ever written and Cineworld screened last Thursdays live performance from the Royal Opera House in London, for one night only- just days after I but an unlimited card, I can only believe it was fate!!! I'm not going to sit here and explain the story of La Boheme to you all because it would take so long and I'd get to passionate and preachy and ramble on for pages and pages. But I will say if you like the opera, or think you may like the opera, or even if you're not sure but want to try new things- make sure La Boheme is on your list of things to see, along with La Traviatta, Madama Butterfly and Matthew Bourne's Sleeping Beauty Ballet (currently on at Sadler's Well Theatre in London
These are my recommendations to you an these would all make it on to my list of goo life decisions.
A bad life decision concerning the opera? Cosi Fan Tutti! A comedy that should be ashamed to call itself such- also known as Mozart's love letter to his own arias!

Anyhow I'm off for a double feature of The Impossible and Les Miserables tomorrow so night night :-).

Great Decisions

Have you ever been excited about something and then realised that you just weren't excited enough? I mean like the event deserved so much more excitement because it is literally just the most amazing thing in recent memory.

That's my way of telling you that Les Miserables just swooped right to the top of my favourite ever movies list. And I'm talking RIGHT to the TOP!! I'm sorry Shawshank I will always love you but Wow, just wow!!

It probably helped that my favourite actress, Anne Hathaway, is in it but honestly I think it is just because the movie is spectacular. Visually, dramatically, musically it's just amazing.
Just ask Damo he is now officially a Les Mis fan/devotee :-).

This wasn't supposed to sound like a review so I'll stop lol.
But I honestly had an amazing day-even if I didn't get my frozen yoghurt, and Liverpool might have lost, and I got touched by a horrible, horrible football top. I guess that's what great company, great movies and an unlimited card can do for you :-p.

La Boheme on Tuesday so until then...

Best Friends Birthday

So tonight was my girl Zeets' birthday night out and a fun one it was too. I didn't even have any champagne so properly well behaved tonight :-). Although I must warn you, if the bar you are in doesn't sell bottled water and you choose Red Bull remember that with a caffeine intolerance you will end up with a headache!!

But thumping heads aside it is true what they say, you DO NOT need alcohol to have a good time! We sang karaoke, and danced and laughed all while I was stone cold sober :-). I hope Zeets had a good night too of course.

Now for the dilemma part...on a night bus home, when everybody else is drunk, is it sad to read your book? Lol I take a book everywhere with me because I abhor small talk with people on the bus but there is something in me saying, "you read on the night bus, you are officially a nerd!" So what do you guys think?

Anyway looking nerdy and being the only sober one on the bus aside, it's been a good one.
Now it's almost time for bed and the early morning wake up call for Les Miserables!!!
Words can not express how freaking excited I am for tomorrow. First watching a movie that I have been waiting months for and then watching the Mighty Reds beat those stinking Red Devils :-). Well a girl can hope right!! Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Until next time...

Good decision vs Bad decision

So here we are in January which is the first month of my self-imposed dry spell and I'm trying to weigh up the pros and cons of my soberness.
I've done this for the last few years, where the only alcohol I have between January and the 2nd week in June, is the odd Champagne(or cheap assed equivalent) and this year is no different but after three years I can't actually remember why I started doing it! So I think it's time for a list or two :-).

Good Decision:
Healthier.
Lose weight.
Better skin.
No hangovers.
Spend less money.
No late night fast food binges.

Bad Decision:
Being the only sober one in a group can be tiring.
Can sometimes cost more to buy water.
Constantly having to explain that "no I'm not pregnant, I just prefer not to drink."

I can't think of anymore :-/ can you guys think of anything to add to either list?

Anyway just a short one tonight because I've got a busy weekend ahead of me.
Most looking forward to Zeets birthday drinks on Saturday and then watching Les Miserables on Sunday morning and the miserable one on Sunday afternoon (also known as Damo after the Liverpool/Man United game) :-).

Back soon.

New Year

Hiya, so here it is the new year and a brand new blog. It's out with the old, crazy ramblings of a college student, obsessed with fashion and gloating about love, and in with the new, crazy ramblings of a Uni student, in love with fashion and waxing lyrical about the single life.

The name of the blog is obvious really: I love my best friends, they are my world, and together we make a lot of great and a lot of bad decisions!! Here you'll get to hear and sometimes even see all about them. :-).

First night out of the new year happens tonight do expect an update on that.... But first things first I'll introduce you to the best friends so you know who I'm talking about :-).

Best Friends:

Jacob F- the best male friend on earth. Funny, super intelligent, as crazy if not more so than me, and protective in a loving but not at all restrictive way. Will from now on be known as Benton.

Sherylanne G- My Hoob, my youngest friend, mother to the cutest little boy and my partner in inappropriate bouncer stalking antics. A.K.A Hoob.

Fiona A- My MIA friend, hiding in the depths of Siberia(or somewhere outside Glasgow), married to another bestie and living vicariously through me. Also my much needed excuse for little days away from the city. A.K.A Nina.

Zita Z- My kindred spirit, the foreign contingent to our group, the one that hates marriage and kids but will be the first to have both! (Not including Hoob).
A.K.A Zeets.

Nicholas R- the dirty scoundrel of the group, looks like Jesus acts like Satan but has a heart of pure gold. Loves me for me and knows all my secrets(almost).Oh and Zeets' future husband. A.K.A Nico.

Alexandra M- My longest friend, my cultural soulmate, the one I do lunch with, the one that enjoys the theatre with me and the one that turns into an absolute wild woman after a few Cosmopolitans! A.K.A Disco Dolly.

Craig S- The ex, the one that I'll always be friends with despite the break-up, the one that made me support Aberdeen FC, and the one that discovered my passion for karaoke. A.K.A Bambi.

Jo S- The baby (in a nice way) of the group, the one I feel most protective of, an the one that often feels left out :-(. A.K.A JoJo

Damian W- the newest addition to the group, the Man U fan that rubs me up the wrong way on too many occasions but gets away with it, the one that is too nice for his own good, the one that smells amazing and the one that brought Sam and Oscar the turtles into my life. A.K.A Damo(although he hates this).

Those are the main players in the show that is my life, of course there are others but that 9 are the ones you'll hear about most. Now for some bad decisions!

Bad Decisions:

The Incident- rebound ex, rather not mentioned but creeps in every so often.

Wow looks like there is only one worth mentioning...for now!!!

Here's to 2013 and many more bad decisions made in the comfortable surroundings of my best friends!
